Bonjour, my name is Baptiste Delvallé and I am a 29 year-old Frenchman. After 8 years abroad, I just moved back to France, where I currently teach at Bordeaux International School and through a French immersion private program which I founded (www.thehandsonlanguageprogram.com). Through my program, I implement the methods that I have developed over the years, teaching in different settings and learning from different universities and programs. Among other things, my methods involve PBL, hands-on, activity-based immersion, cross-curricular rigor, and life and world connections.

In search of an innovative school up-to-date with the best practices of of high-standards schools of the world (I am even creating an association to push for innovation in education), I am currently looking for a position as a teacher of French or ESOL in a school. I am endorsed in those subjects through my Oregon teaching license and the master's of education I earned from the University of Oregon's College of Education, one of the top 10 schools of education of the US (click here for source check rankings of 2012 and 2013).

Before my language immersion program, which originally started in Vermont (US), I worked in a hybrid local-international school called Lawrence S. Ting School, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Along with a dozen other foreigners, I pioneered an international-standard education system there and built the ESOL/English Language Arts program and curriculum at the school, which is considered one of the best schools of the city. At that school, I led PBL and hands-on learning experiences, pioneered the first collaboration between LSTS and a renown international school (SSIS), helped develop a stronger English program, and learned from one more school system of the world to inspire my teaching methods.

As you can find out while navigating this website, my extensive teaching experience goes much beyond my two years as a middle school teacher in Vietnam, as it ranges from many years of private tutoring and volunteering to internships, practicum and student teaching in IB and language immersion settings, and to employments as an elementary school, summer school, and extra-curricular teacher. I have instructed and guided people from 5 years old to over 50, and have taught French to non-French speakers, English to non-English speakers, cooking and baking, social studies, and more. My teaching experience is also global, as I have taught in France, the United States, Australia, Vietnam, and Benin. Besides, I have traveled extensively, including a year-long world tour, which gives me valuable knowledge and first-hand experience to educate future generations about the world.

I invite you to explore the different pages of this website to learn more about my teaching style, my philosophy, or to see examples of my teaching. Please feel free to contact me using the following addresses (emails are best for a first contact):
